Extensive experience for companies in mature markets in opening new channels for for innovation, including Omni channel, ecommerce and licensing. Solid track record in analyzing issues from multiple perspectives to develop optimum solutions.
- Recruited into organizations to lead growth and restructuring in challenging markets and mature business sectors. Transformed Myer EBITDA from negative $22M to Positive $90M positioning for successful sale, restructured Sean John business and negotiated profitable licensing strategy with Macys.
- Strong financial background and strategic planning from Private Equity involvement provides a valuable background, particularly in industries where global brand, brand reputation and customer focus considerations in wholesale, retail, ecommerce, social media and licensing models directly shape the company. Expanded the Ecommerce at Old Navy from $35M to $60M, Avenue from $35M to $60M.

Lisa Kornstein Kaufman
Lisa Kornstein is the original founder of Scout & Molly’s and now also serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Scout Franlogic Development, LLC. Lisa opened the very first Scout & Molly’s boutique in 2002. The store was named after her beloved Labrador retrievers, who for many years, could be found lounging in the store. Lisa has over a decade of experience in owning and operating a successful boutique business. She has a proven ability to pick out trend styles and also to make her customers feel as though they are shopping in the comfort of their best friend’s closet. Lisa is passionate about incorporating philanthropy into her business model. She is an active volunteer with the National MS Society. That particular cause is one she holds close to her heart since her own diagnosis with the disease over 6 years ago. She is also involved with Saving Grace Animal Rescue as well as various other charitable groups throughout the community. Lisa has a drive unparalleled by many and her desire to take Scout & Molly’s nationwide is propelling her forward with great enthusiasm.
President of Blacks Retail
Steve Pruitt currently serves as President of Retail for Scout & Molly’s. Steve is a retail industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in merchandise planning, leadership coaching, and retail financials. Steve began his career at a national merchandising planning firm, and has worked with some of the most successful independent apparel stores across the country as both an analyst and trusted consultant. In 2004, he founded Blacks Retail, offering merchants highly specialized planning and consulting services based on innovative technologies. Steve is now considered one of the top retail industry analysts in the U.S. and brings with him a solid understanding of retail best practices, sales strategies, and merchandise and financial planning. He oversees all retail activities for Scout & Molly’s with a focus on helping franchisees grow their businesses.
Director of Operations and Strategy
Marisa is our Director of Operations & Strategy. Marisa comes to us from JOOR where she spearheaded and built the retail side of the marketplace to a state of profitability. Marisa implemented product redesign to the website UI, built the Retail side of the marketplace through retail engagement, operational process and hiring management. Marisa also managed the development, pricing structure and selling process of the JOOR Retailer Application–used here at Scout & Molly’s. Her prime responsibility at Scout & Molly’s is overseeing Corporate Operations across the franchise while also working with franchisees to achieve profitability after establishing a financial strategy with tangible metrics. Marisa is focused on ways to drive profitability through lowering costs, managing/hiring the right staff, operational process, eCommerce and Marketing. Marisa oversees all Scout & Molly’s vendor relationships and Corporate Strategy. Marisa is a fashion lover of all things chic and monochrome! When she isn’t brainstorming ways to drive the franchise forward, Marisa can be found either online shopping or dancing.
Lody is our Senior Buyer and has an extensive background in buying and merchandising. She began her career in luxury at Nordstrom in buying where she learned all the fundamentals of assortment planning, vendor negotiations and relationships, store presentations, brand marketing and customer focus. She honed her merchandising skills at Liz Claiborne as the Director of Merchandising for Lucky, Juicy and DKNY. In addition, she has successfully worked in specialty retail, wholesale, and value across all categories. Her prime responsibility at Scout & Molly’s is working with franchisees to deliver a cohesive and trend right assortments. Build vendor relationships and drive business through strategic planning. Lody loves to travel, hiking and photography. When Lody is not on calls with the franchisees, Market or setting up a new store. She is on Instagram and Snapchat with friends and family.
Real Estate Manager
Larry Barto currently serves as Real Estate Manager for Scout & Molly’s. Larry Barto brings credentials as both a commercial real estate professional and as a multi-unit food service executive. Larry has completed leases / opened new store locations for hundreds of franchise retail and restaurant locations throughout the country for companies such as Rita’s Italian Ice, K9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel, United Financial Services Group, Popeye’s Chicken ‘N Biscuits, Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, and The Gravity Vault – indoor rock climbing. As an independent owner, Larry operated a five-unit restaurant company. Larry coordinates with franchisees and suppliers on Scout & Molly’s real estate, pre-open checklists and store fit outs.
Marketing Account Manager
Raquel is our Marketing Account Manager, responsible for coordinating all things marketing for our franchisees. Raquel has over 15 years of marketing experience in both corporate America and for start-ups. At Verizon, she worked in Consumer Marketing and created programs to retain high value customers. As a consultant she has written blogs, managed social media, created websites and designed marketing plans. For Scout and Molly’s Raquel manages the creation of advertisements and promotions, oversees the marketing of grand openings and manages the relationships with our marketing partners. Raquel is a people person who loves fashion and enjoys a good laugh anytime.
Corporate Sales Trainer
Emily DiMaggio currently serves as Director of Marketing & Sales for Scout & Molly’s. For over 35 years, Emily has honed her innovative clienteling and team building approach across a number of industries including finance, media, technology, non-profit and retail. She has worked for established FORTUNE 500 companies as well as for start-ups. Emily has seamlessly integrated marketing and sales divisions to repeatedly capture market share. As the BLACKS Sales Management Coach, Emily oversees Scout & Molly’s sales-team building and client-in-store-experience initiatives as well as works with CRUSH to orchestrate marketing direction to grow the Franchisees’ operations.
